Members-only, in the city: Mira Vista (the gated club community), with Shady Oaks and River Crest anchoring Westworth Village's border — clubs first, neighborhoods around them. Public-course living: Westworth Village wraps Hawks Creek (the value round with the jet soundtrack), and Benbrook's Whitestone Ranch side threads Whitestone's fairways. The corridor's own course: Split Rail in Aledo — the in-town round covered in the Aledo guide's daily-life layer, a strong layout working back to form. Frontier golf: Canyon West — the region's most dramatic terrain, thirty honest minutes past everything.
How to buy golf-adjacent without regret
Three checks before paying a fairway premium: (1) course health — play it twice in different months and read recent player reports; a struggling course discounts every lot on it, and courses do close. (2) The membership question — home purchase and club membership are separate transactions at the private clubs; get current initiation/dues in writing before assuming access. (3) The lot-position tax — tee-box-adjacent lots eat errant balls and 7am mowers; mid-fairway and green-side positions price and live differently. Then run the ordinary file: taxes, zoning per address, and the option-period list.
