That's not generosity — it's competition, and it peaks in late summer when properties fight over the school-year moving wave. Two practical consequences: first, the "biggest" special doesn't automatically win. Eight weeks free at a higher rent can cost more over 12 months than seven weeks at a lower one — add up everything you'd pay, divide by the months, compare.
