Internet options across the west FW corridor
Out here, fiber on one street becomes fixed-wireless two blocks over — and for remote workers that difference matters more than most amenities on the brochure. Here's what's actually available by city, and the two questions to ask any community before you sign.
Availability snapshot by city
| City | Fiber | Cable | Other options |
|---|---|---|---|
| Willow Park | AT&T Fiber in substantial parts of the city (up to ~5 Gbps where built); Open Infra fiber in limited areas (up to 8 Gbps); EarthLink resells fiber where lines exist | Spectrum in roughly a quarter to a third of addresses per coverage trackers | T-Mobile/Verizon 5G Home nearly citywide; Rise Broadband & Nextlink fixed wireless; Starlink everywhere |
| Weatherford | AT&T Fiber and Spectrum fiber in parts; Frontier fiber (up to 7 Gbps) and Open Infra (8 Gbps) in limited areas | Cable at roughly 40% of addresses | Rise Broadband ~80% coverage; 5G Home widely; DSL lingers at ~a quarter of addresses |
| Hudson Oaks | Along the retail corridor, availability generally mirrors Willow Park — confirm per address | Spectrum in parts | 5G Home, fixed wireless, Starlink |
| West Fort Worth (76108) | Urban-side coverage — AT&T Fiber common but address-specific | Spectrum broadly available | Full metro menu of 5G Home options |
Compiled from public broadband coverage trackers, checked July 2026. Coverage claims differ meaningfully between trackers — treat this as the shortlist to check, then verify your exact address at each provider's site or the FCC's National Broadband Map (broadbandmap.fcc.gov).
The two questions that outrank any coverage map
1. "What is this building actually wired for?" A community inside a fiber footprint isn't automatically fiber-served — the line has to reach the building and the unit. Newer build-to-rent communities are typically pre-wired for at least one high-speed provider; older properties may only have coax. Ask which providers serve the unit, and ask a current resident if you can.
2. "Is internet bundled, exclusive, or my choice?" Some communities have bulk agreements — internet billed with rent through one mandated provider. That's convenient or captive depending on the provider and price; either way it belongs in your monthly math alongside the rest of the utility picture.
Remote worker rule of thumb: confirm the upload speed, not just download — fiber's symmetrical uploads are why it matters for video calls — and test a 5G Home hotspot at the actual unit during your tour if fiber isn't available.
