The annual anchors, in order

Late April — Weatherford Blooms. The home-and-garden festival on the historic square, always the last Saturday in April: 100+ vendors, antique tractors, free, and the unofficial start of porch season.

A week in June — Parker County Frontier Days & Sheriff's Posse Rodeo. PRCA/WPRA-sanctioned rodeo preserved since 1947, opening with a genuine cattle drive through town, a parade, and a street dance. This is the week Weatherford remembers it's a cowtown.

July 4th — Heritage Park. Weatherford's day-long show ending in one of North Texas's largest fireworks displays.

Second Saturday of July — the Parker County Peach Festival. The corridor's flagship: roughly 60,000 people, 200+ vendors, two live stages, and everything peach in the Peach Capital of Texas. Named "Best in Texas" by the Texas Festival & Events Association in 2025. The Peach Pedal bike ride runs festival week. Local wisdom: ride the free shuttle buses, go early, and leave the dog home — the pavement is no joke.

Fall Fridays — the homecoming season. Aledo's homecoming parade puts thousands of little Bearcats on the street; it belongs on this list because it functions as a civic holiday. The full Friday-night institution has its own desk.

December — Christmas on the Square. The Weatherford Chamber's downtown tradition: choirs, craft booths, the character meet-and-greets, and the courthouse lit for the season.

The monthly and weekly rhythm

First Monday Trade Days (the weekend of the first Monday, every month) — one of the oldest open-air markets in Texas, and the recurring reason downtown Weatherford fills up. Saturday mornings: the Clearfork Farmers Market (8am–noon, Edwards Ranch Rd, beside the Trinity Trails — sourdough, local honey, the works) sets the east-side weekend, while the Weatherford Farmers Market (217 Fort Worth Hwy) runs year-round, daily, store-style — with the Kai Lani coffee truck posted 7am–1pm. Several evenings a week: live music at The District at Willow Park's Lucchese pavilion — the corridor's newest standing plan-for-tonight. Any dry day: the Parks of Aledo trail system — check WMBA's green/red gate status after rain.
