Electricity — check which system your address is in first

This is the corridor's big utilities twist. Much of the area sits in Oncor's wires territory, where Texas's deregulated market applies: you choose a retail provider at powertochoose.org (the state's official comparison site), and Oncor handles the poles, meters, and outages regardless of who bills you. But significant stretches of eastern Parker County — including parts of the Aledo and Willow Park area — are served by Tri-County Electric Cooperative, a member-owned co-op where there's no shopping: the co-op is the provider, with its own rates and a capital-credit structure. The address decides, not the city — so before comparing plans, confirm which territory the exact address is in (the previous occupant's bill, or a call to either, settles it). Gas: where a home has it, natural gas service in this region is Atmos Energy — though a real share of corridor homes, especially acreage and newer all-electric builds, have no gas at all, and the land pockets run propane (tank lease or purchase — the acreage checklist covers it). Water, sewer, trash: through your city's utility office (the city-services file); on acreage, it's well-and-septic territory with the trash contract often a private subscription. Internet: genuinely address-by-address out here — the availability guide is the check to run before lease or contract, not after. Timing: electric and water can usually start same-week; internet installs queue longest, so order it the day the contract firms up.
